Lorenzo Garizio believes architecture and interior design are not only functional but serve as a reflection of personal expression and experiences; in turn, enriching the lives of those who inhabit them. As Director of Architecture, Lorenzo leads with collaboration and mentorship, fostering a culture where innovation thrives and boundaries are continuously redefined.

Lorenzo joined mckimm in 2004, starting in a contract administration role when the team was only three people. With his design portfolio in hand, he collaborated with Founder, Nick McKimm on their first project, Nick’s own home. This was a pivotal moment that set the foundation for the company’s future.

With a natural talent for design and an intuitive understanding of space, form, and function, Lorenzo has been instrumental in shaping mckimm’s architectural direction. Guided by a hands-on ethos, Lorenzo takes an active role in all stages of the design process, from concept to completion. His passion for detail, materials used, and form have helped shape mckimm’s reputation for timeless, high-quality design.

Michael Piercy joined mckimm in 2020, bringing extensive expertise in project management and estimating to the team. With a reputation for precision and exceptional organisation, Michael quickly became a cornerstone of mckimm’s operations.

As Director of Construction, Michael plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategic processes that enhance efficiency, ensuring a seamless project delivery from concept to completion.

As Director of Architecture at mckimm, Danica Garizio is known for her forward-thinking approach and ability to seamlessly blend creativity with innovation. Since joining the company in 2013, Danica has played a pivotal role in shaping mckimm’s design philosophy, bringing a fresh perspective that balances bold ideas with contemporary flair.

As a second-generation member of the leadership team (her father being Lorenzo), Danica draws on her connection to mckimm’s values and her family’s passion for design. Her ability to refine ideas and navigate challenges with strategic clarity has solidified her reputation as a leader who inspires confidence and collaboration.

Adam Kerr brings over three decades of experience to his role as Construction Manager, making him an integral part of the leadership team. As a Bayside local, Adam’s understanding of the area’s landscape and lifestyle allows him to approach every project with insight and sensitivity. His local knowledge fosters strong connections within the community, ensuring every project is executed with precision.

Originally from South Africa, Marlene Lothian joined mckimm in 2023, bringing her strategic insight and exceptional attention to detail to the financial operations division. As an integral part of the leadership team, Marlene ensures financial stability while aligning project goals with the company’s broader objectives, making her an invaluable asset to mckimm’s continued success.

Since joining mckimm in 2010, Stephen Smith has served as Building and Design Manager. He plays a pivotal role in translating design innovation into practical, buildable solutions. Renowned for his precision and problem-solving expertise, Stephen provides guidance in overcoming technical challenges, ensuring every project is executed to the highest standard.

Dharani Kendaragama joined mckimm in 2020 as a Project Architect, bringing a calming energy and collaborative spirit to the team. Originally from Sri Lanka, her approach is shaped by the ethos of Sri Lankan architecture – contextual sensitivity, experimental use of materials, and a minimalist design philosophy. Dharani’s passion for architecture is evident in her thoughtful, detail-oriented designs and ability to create spaces that are functional and inspiring.

Originally from New Zealand, Dan Stevens has been an integral part of the mckimm team since 2014. Known for his sharp wit and easy-going nature, Dan brings a refreshing mix of intelligence and humour to his role as Project Manager. He builds strong relationships while ensuring projects stay on track and goals are achieved with clarity and efficiency.

Since joining mckimm in 2014, Dean Bransden has been a key figure in coordinating and delivering projects. As a Project Manager, Dan is known for his calm approach and clear communication, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards. His attention to detail and ability to navigate complex timelines make him an invaluable part of the team.

Jordan August joined mckimm in 2020 as a Project Architect, bringing exceptional technical expertise and strategic thinking to his role. Originally from New Zealand, his design background reflects his commitment to contextual sensitivity and connection to the environment. With a keen eye for detail and a focus on innovation, Jordan is instrumental in transforming mckimm designs into reality.

Liam Kuhnell joined mckimm in 2021 as a Project Architect. Liam’s designs are thoughtfully tailored to their environments, enhancing the relationship between built form and the surrounding landscape. Originally from Ireland, David Mellotte joined mckimm in 2022 as a Project Manager. His strong leadership style promotes a supportive team environment, making him a pleasure to work with and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard. Nick Klein brings his love for the outdoors and passion for project management to mckimm. Since joining as Project Manager in 2023, Nick is known for his collaborative approach and ability to maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Nick is dedicated to ensuring every project runs smoothly and successfully.

Isabella Cini joined mckimm in 2017, leading the design department as Interior Design Manager. Isabella’s travels through Europe and the world have enriched her creative perspective, allowing her to blend cultural influences into projects. Originally from France, Sandra Ludon joined mckimm in 2020 as an Interior Designer.
