Deploying a multi-layered façade, the Hoyt #project345 is a rectilinear house with intersecting planes of concrete, glass and brick. Containing the complete gamut of textures and finishes, the attention to detail at the Hoyt brings a casual purity to the project and offers a design that is liveable, inviting and warm for the family of four who call Hoyt their home.

.

Visitors to the Hoyt are met with a series of cantilevered concrete steps that hover over a water feature and ascend towards the front door. A clear line of sight from the front gate to the rear of the property is offered upon entering and basic mckimm principles of orientation, breezeways and thermal mass were fundamental to the design of the project.

.

Conceptually, the above-ground architectural composition of the Hoyt surrounds the outdoor pool in a north facing u-shape formation. Floor to ceiling glazing dissolves the boundary between indoors and outdoors while allowing natural light from the northerly aspect to flood the main living areas. Kitchen and living areas open to the outdoors via sliding glass panels and facilitate the internal, external connection while allowing the main living zones of the Hoyt to blend seamlessly into one.

.

Enabling connection between the three levels of the home, an off-form concrete wall that carries the American Oak treads of the staircase is softened by intricate copper detailing. The master suite, a further bathroom and two bedrooms, each containing their own walk-in-robe are all found on the upper level of the home and offer individual zones for each family member. Underground is for entertaining with a bar, wine store, media zone and powder room offering a retreat for the owners to accommodate friends and family. With a continual focus on ventilation, a natural breezeway is created through an external void that falls from the pool area to the media room.

.

The idea of layering textures and finishes was key to the design of the Hoyt and offer a seamless flow between zones. Bearing the trademark quality of casual luxury, the Hoyt offers a comfortable living environment for a family of four and a home that will be enjoyed for years to come.
